Oregon

Currently, Learn Everywhere legislation has not been introduced in Oregon. However, this page provides students and families with information about available options for earning credit for out-of-classroom learning. While Learn Everywhere allows for program providers to be approved to offer credit-bearing learning opportunities, for the programs listed below, it is the student’s responsibility to submit an application and complete the program requirements.

Credit Options
OAR 581-022-2025
Students can obtain credit for learning that takes place outside the classroom through documented proficiency or mastery of identified standards. Standards include state academic content standards and essential skills/career-related learning standards, industry-based or other national or international standards.
The method for accruing credit must be described in a student’s personal education plan. Districts decide whether to award credit for prior learning.
