Mississippi voters overwhelmingly support expanding education freedom and giving families control over their child’s education—and voters are willing to reward lawmakers who deliver. The new statewide survey was conducted by The Tarrance Group for yes. every kid. foundation.

Why it matters:

Voters want more choices and agency for families, and they appreciate lawmakers who do too.

  • 85% say parents, not the government, should choose their child’s school.
  • 75% say education savings accounts (ESAs) should be available to all families not limited by household incomes or district ratings.
  • 79% would be more likely to vote for legislators who support making the ESA program statewide and universal.
  • 77% say when funding follows the child, schools are more accountable, and likewise, 77% support increasing accountability by allowing dissatisfied families to switch schools and take their money with them.
  • 76% support empowering children to attend any public school in Mississippi.

These findings mirror those published by yes. every kid. foundation. in January of this year, demonstrating sustained support from Mississippi voters.

The bottom line:

“Mississippians want the freedom to choose the best school for their child—and they want lawmakers who will get government out of the way. This poll shows broad support for universal ESAs and expanded public school options, and voters see that education freedom creates real accountability. They’re ready to reward leaders who deliver it.
