New poll shows overwhelming majority of North Dakotans support education freedom

Support was consistent across demographics.

BISMARCK, North Dakota — A new poll conducted by Arc Insights on behalf of yes. every kid. foundation. found that more than two-thirds of North Dakotans support school choice, with 41% in strong support.

When it comes to Education Savings Accounts, more than six-in-ten likely voters support an ESA program in North Dakota, with high support across political and cultural demographics.

Furthermore, support for school choice is a key factor for North Dakotans when they’re selecting their state legislators. A majority of voters (54%) are more likely to support a legislator if they support ESAs, about half of whom are much more likely.

“North Dakota families are hungry for education freedom,” said yes. every kid. foundation. Vice President of Strategy Matt Frendewey. “As the results clearly show, this critical issue crosses all sorts of boundaries. Families want the power to decide what’s best for their kid.”

Nearly eight-in-ten likely voters (78%) say it is extremely or very important that the State Legislature work to improve K-12 education in the next legislative session.

The poll was conducted by Arc Insights from October 9-12, 2023. It surveyed 400 likely 2024 voters across North Dakota with a margin of error of ± 5%. Read the poll memo here.
