Heidie Nesset is an experienced strategist and operator who turns education-freedom policy into real-world, working solutions for families. As Vice President of Implementation for yes. every kid. foundation., she leads a national capability that brings newly enacted laws to life in the regulatory sphere, building effective customer-support operations and ensuring pragmatic compliance that protect program integrity without burdensome red tape for families.
For more than a decade, Nesset has designed, launched, and improved education initiatives in Florida, West Virginia, Georgia, Louisiana, Illinois, and Alabama, while advising efforts in states such as Utah, Wyoming, Arkansas, and North Carolina. At Step Up For Students, she stood up West Virginia’s historic Hope Scholarship Program, drove customer-experience and operational improvements across Florida’s Family Empowerment Scholarship, and oversaw the development of a user platform projected to serve more than one million users. At Arete Scholars, she expanded tax-credit scholarships in Georgia and Louisiana – partnering with corporations, foundations, and providers to fundraise, maintain compliance, and engage participants.
Known for cross-functional leadership and her agile approach, Nesset brings product, policy, and operations under one roof to deliver results so programs are easy to sign up for and easy to use for families. She holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Florida State University, with additional professional study at Cornell and the University of Notre Dame. She lives in metro-Atlanta with her family. Residing in Metro-Atlanta with her family, Heidie continues to be a driving force in shaping impactful education policies and opportunities for children.
