Wyoming’s application window for the Education Savings Account program’s 2026-27 school year opened this week and closes August 6.
The program empowers families with up to $7,000 per K-12 student to put toward private school tuition, curriculum, tutoring, and other approved education expenses. Pre-K funding is available for income-qualified families at or below 250% of the federal poverty level.
Wyoming families spent months waiting on the sidelines while this program’s future sat tied up in the courts. Every month of uncertainty was a month a family couldn’t fully plan for their child’s education. Now the window is open again, and families have what they’ve been asking for: the ability to choose the school, curriculum, or learning environment that actually works for their kid.
Every family has a story. Some are looking for a different school. Others need more reading support, specialized services, or a learning environment where their child can finally thrive. Programs like the Steamboat Legacy Scholarship give families the flexibility to pursue the education that fits their child instead of asking their child to fit into a single system.
Wyoming joins a growing number of states offering families greater flexibility over their children’s education. Every launch means more parents have the opportunity to make decisions based on what works best for their child.
Applications are open now at edu.wyoming.gov/parents/education-savings-accounts.
